Hunting Information


Hunting in Saskatchewan offers sportsmen the most thrilling big game hunts in North America. We hunt Wildlife Management Zone 67 near Chitek Lake, Saskatchewan along the forest farmland fringe, and allocated for 210 square miles of pristine provincial forest. The majority of our hunting is done from heated ground blinds or carefully placed tree stands, depending on the hunter’s preference.

You will fly to Saskatoon the day before the hunt begins (Saturday). On Sunday, hunters will meet at Chitek Lake where we have a modern lodge with all the comforts of home, giving you a chance to sight in your choice of weapon and relax before the excitement begins. All hunts are six days in duration.

Whitetail Deer

Saskatchewan is the number one spot in the world to harvest a Boone & Crockett Whitetail and is home to the World Record Typical Whitetail – the Hanson Buck! Our whitetail hunting area is abundant with wildlife, lakes, streams, and thick forest that consistently produce some of Saskatchewan’s largest whitetail deer - heavy bodies and big racks!


Rifle hunting takes place in November. Weather conditions during this time can vary from a pleasant 35°F to a chilly –20°F; therefore, warm winter apparel is a must! Our heated ground blinds will help protect you from the cold, while affording you the visibility needed for your shot.


Hunting is done over active baits from strategically placed ground blinds and tree stands. Baits are set to accommodate choice of weapon. About 90% of our trophies have been taken between 10:00am-2:00pm and we boast an 80% success rate.

Black Bear

We offer some of the finest Black Bear hunting in Saskatchewan. Our hunting area is well populated with large black bear. Through the years, several of our clients have taken Boone & Crocket & Pope & Young bear. You will be hunting black bear, but don’t let the name fool you.  In addition to black, these bruins come in all color phases: blonde, cinnamon, chocolate and mixed.

We hunt black bear in May & September. Weather conditions during this time average 40°F - 70°F. Hunting is done over active baits from strategically placed tree stands and baits are set to accommodate all hunters. We can guarantee that you will see bear, and we boast a 100% success rate.

Birds

Saskatchewan offers some of the finest waterfowl and upland game bird hunting in Canada!  Our area is situated under one of the largest migratory routes in Western Canada.  We hunt Wildlife Management Zones 52-54 & 67 in Saskatchewan’s central grain belt.  Hunters can take 8 dark geese (Greater  & Lesser Canadian’s, & Specklebellies), 20 white geese (Ross, Snow & Blue Geese) 8 ducks (Redhead’s, Canvasback’s, Mallard’s, Pintail’s, Blue & Green Wing Teals, & Wigeon– to name a few) and 5 Sandhill Cranes – Per Day!  Packages are available from Sept. – Oct.

Fishing

Because the majority of bear hunting begins mid-day, a boat is available for use by those who wish to experience one of Saskatchewan’s cherished outdoor activities – fishing! Try your skill at catching big Northern Pike, Walleye and Perch!
